Thank you for visiting our website today. I trust that you have enjoyed your tour. These are very special days in the Land of Canaan.
Thank you for praying for our church family. Please join us in praying for Dr. Scott Caudill and his family as they pursue the great work to which God has called them at Macedonia World Baptist Missions. Also, join us in thanking the Lord for His goodness to us during these days.
We believe that the best days are still ahead for Canaan Baptist Church!
The Bible says in I Corinthians 15:58, “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast…” With the help of God, this is our desire.
Please know that my joy, and the joy of the Canaan Baptist Church family, would be to help you in any way possible. We are praying for you!
May the Lord greatly bless you and your family!
I hope to see you very soon in the Land of Canaan!
About Assistant Pastor Thomas Satterfield
Dr. Thomas Satterfield is the Assistant Pastor of Canaan Baptist Church. He actually grew up at Canaan while his father, Br. Gary Satterfield, was the Youth Pastor. He was saved at the age of six in his first grade classroom at Stone Mountain Christian School. During a Worship Service at Camp Canaan Dr. Thomas surrendered to the call to preach at the age of fourteen. He graduated from Stone Mountain Christian School and enrolled at Crown College in Powell, Tennessee the following fall. Dr. Satterfield received a Bachelor’s Degree in Pastoral Ministry and a Master of Ministry Degree from Crown. During his time at Crown College, he was involved in their bus ministry and headed up a public school Bible club. Dr. Thomas interned at Salem Baptist Church in Ten Mile, TN, as well as at Crown College as assistant to Br. Scott Pauley.
Ordained into the Gospel Ministry at Canaan Baptist Church in 1999, Dr. Satterfield moved to West Virginia to assume the role of Assistant Pastor at Ripley Baptist Temple under Pastor Perrine. He served in this great church for three years.
In October 2002, Dr. Satterfield answered the call to become the Assistant Pastor of Indian River Baptist Church in Edgewater, Florida where Br. Gary Satterfield was the Pastor. He was in charge of the Music ministry, and the youth ministry during his time at Indian River.
In October 2006, Canaan Baptist Church called Br. Thomas to return to his home church to become the Assistant Pastor. As the leader of the Bus Ministry, the Youth Ministry, and Kid’s Clubs he has enjoyed a very fruitful ministry. Dr. Satterfield also leads in Worship Music and teaches Sunday school.
With a heart for the youth of our churches Dr. Satterfield re-launched the Georgia Youth Fellowship and serves as their President. Rallies are held quarterly where our young people are thrilled by godly, conservative music and fundamental, Bible preaching. The GYF hosts a three day annual retreat each December.
Dr. Satterfield and his wife, Ms. Jennifer, were married in 1999. They have four children: Danny, Samuel, Emma, and Julia. Br. Thomas and Ms. Jennifer both grew up at Canaan Baptist Church, and are excited to raise their family in the same atmosphere of old-time preaching and praying. Together the Satterfields enjoy traveling, cooking, and watching re-runs of Andy Griffith. Danny answered the call to preach at the age of ten and loves cooking, music, and history. Samuel, the athlete of the family, also serves as the peacemaker and provides a little mischief to keep everyone on their toes. As a girly girl, Emma enjoys being fashionable and keeping up with the latest feminine trends. The baby of the family is Julia. She provides lots of giggles and energy and keeps life fun for this busy family.
